Brandon Casey has been an attorney practicing in Spokane, Washington since 2004. He was born in Spokane, Washington, attended Hamblen Elementary, Sacajawea Middle School, and Gonzaga Preparatory School.

Brandon’s first job in the legal field was at Paine Hamblen, LLP working in the mail room. He worked on the general service staff at Paine Hamblen, LLP from 1994-1999, to pay his way through college. Brandon graduated from Eastern Washington University with a degree in philosophy and a degree in economics in 1999. During that time he purchased a five-acre home and had two wonderful boys with his wife Christell.

While deciding whether they should sell their home and move to Moscow, Idaho for law school, he found a way to stay in Spokane and support his family through law school. He obtained his WSBA APR 6 certification in 2003 and passed the Washington Bar Exam, becoming a member of the Washington State Bar Association as an attorney in 2004.

As a new lawyer, he began his trial practice immediately, trying his first case within months of passing the bar.  He has continued practicing civil litigation ever since.  He continued his legal education and received his certificate of graduation from Trial Lawyers College in 2012. Brandon has spent his entire life and legal career based in Spokane County.

Although practicing primarily in Spokane County, clients and attorneys throughout Eastern Washington have reached out to Brandon to try cases in other counties such as Adams, Grant, Pend Oreille, Whitman, Walla Walla, Yakima and Benton & Franklin County Superior Court. Brandon has also practiced in the U.S. District Court of Eastern Washington. His experience working in various courts has given him a deep appreciation for the importance of how judges can impact the everyday person’s life.

As an accomplished trial attorney, Mr. Casey has been recognized as a 2023 Thomson Reuters Super Lawyer which is a recognition given to fewer than 5% of the lawyers nationwide.  His practice has primarily focused on civil litigation, specifically representing individuals and small business owners when their lives, property, or rights have been injured. He has represented clients in consumer protection actions, auto collisions, insurance bad faith claims, civil rights (section 1983) claims, malpractice, government taking claims, breach of contract, intentional torts such as assault, battery, and sexual assault. He has also helped clients  with domestic violence protection orders, restoration of rights, landlord tenant issues and probates. Throughout Mr. Casey’s career, he has helped numerous people rebuild their lives after difficult situations.

Brandon is a father of five boys and intends to stay in Spokane for the remainder of his career.  He cares about keeping our community safe and secure. Help us elect an honest, fair, hard-working, local judge who will remain committed to making our community and judicial system better for all persons.

ABOUT BRANDON CASEY

“When we went to school, we were told that we were governed by laws, not men. As a result of that, many people think there is no need to pay any attention to judicial candidates because judges merely apply the law by some mathematical formula and a good judge and a bad judge all apply the same kind of law. The fact is that the most important part of a judge's work is the exercise of judgment and that the law in a court is never better than the common-sense judgment of the judge that is presiding.”
